What is brown rice?
Brown rice also called cargo rice, or whole rice, is a husked rice.More difficult to chew than white rice, its nutritional properties are proportionally increased.
Nutrition and Health
Much more nutritious than white rice, it has a high content of fiber, vitamins and minerals and is easily assimilated by the body.
Grown for nearly 10,000 years, rice is native to China, where it has been harvested in the wild for more than five millennia. Today, rice is the third most cultivated grain after maize and wheat: annual world production is nearly 500 million tonnes. Most of it is cultivated in Asian countries but is destined almost exclusively for the domestic market.
