NOW Beta-1,3/1,6-D-Glucan (Beta-Glucan) is a bioactive carbohydrate derived from the cell wall of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, commonly known as Bakers' yeast. Beta-glucan is a soluble fiber also derived from the cell walls of algae, bacteria, fungi, yeast, and plants. As a fiber, it has been found helpful in cholesterol management. Scientific studies have shown that Beta-Glucan supports healthy immune function through its ability to stimulate macrophage activity. Beta-1,3-glucan may improve the body's immune system defense against foreign invaders by enhancing the ability of these macrophages, plus neutrophils, and natural killer cells, to respond to and fight a wide range of challenges such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. NOW Beta-Glucan is blended into a synergistic base of Maitake Mushrooms for added support. Product is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Adult Dosage: Take two capsules 2 times daily.
