Organika Citrus Bioflavonoids 100Caps
Organika Citrus Bioflavonoids
Get the antioxidant advantage with Organika's Natural Citrus Bioflavonoids with Rutin Capsules.
Citrus bioflavonoids are commercially extracted from a variety of citrus fruits. The bioflavonoids in this Organika product are sourced from the fruit peel of sweet oranges (Citrus sinensis). Citrus bioflavonoids are known to contain the flavanones: hesperetin, naringenin, and eriodictyol.Studies have shown that flavonoids contain chemical structural elements, which may be the reason for their antioxidant activities.
As the glycoside of Quercetin, shown to be one of the most potent antioxidant flavonoids, Rutin has promising antioxidant capabilities. Rutin can be found in onion skins, tea, and horse chestnuts.
The Antioxidant Advantage
A free radical is an atom or group of atoms that contains at least one unpaired electron. When electrons are unpaired, they can easily bond with other atoms which causes a chemical reaction. Excessive free radicals cause oxidative damage to vital heart muscle cells, nerve cells and immune system sensor cells. Oxidative stress has been linked to cancer, aging, inflammation and neurodegenerative diseases. Fortunately, antioxidants protect cells from the damaging effect of reactive oxygen species. Flavonoids may help provide protection by contributing to the antioxidant defense system in the body.
