NOW Glucomannan

Helps to maintain healthy cholesterol levels. Dyslipidemia (an inbalance in blood lipids) causes coronary heart disease in young, middle-aged and elderly adults. Cholesterol lowering drugsrepresent one of most common lines of defense against heart disease and the most prolific area of prescription drug sales. High cholesterol is an increasingly pervasive condition because of poor diet and lifestyle choices. Consumers are looking for effective natural alternatives to pharmaceutical drugs, such as glucomannan, for lowering cholesterol. Glucomannan is also used in Herbal Medicine to provide gentle relief of constipation and irregularity.

Konjac (Amorphophallus konjac) is a perennial plant that grows from an elongated central corm of up to 24 cm in diameter. It is native to warm, tropical parts of East Asian where it is a popular food ingredient. Konjac has a high  fibre content, primarily composed of glucomannan, which passes through the body undigested. A number of glucomannan–based formulas exist in the market, but nonecompares to the quality and value of the NOW brand.
